Empowering Young Minds
-
My private practice specializes in working with a range of diagnoses, including but not limited to ADHD, Anxiety, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Depression, Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). My extensive experience allows for a nuanced and personalized approach to address the specific needs associated with each diagnosis. It’s important to note that a formal diagnosis is not required for treatment. My inclusive approach recognizes and addresses a broad spectrum of emotional and behavioral challenges, ensuring that all children and adolescents—whether diagnosed or not—receive the support they need to thrive. I am continually working to further develop my skillset through ongoing professional development, consultation with providers, and bi-weekly supervision.
-
I hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Education Specialist degree in psychology, all earned from Marshall University. My academic journey provided me with a strong foundation for understanding the complex needs of children and adolescents. Over the past eight years, I’ve built on that foundation by applying my knowledge in both school and private practice settings, developing a well-rounded perspective on supporting children with behavioral and emotional concerns.
-
I have spent six years working in school environments and two years in private practice, experiences that have shaped my approach to care. In schools, I gained firsthand insight into the challenges children face in educational settings, and in private practice, I’ve been able to focus more deeply on early intervention and collaborative care. I work closely with other professionals—therapists, counselors, and educators—to provide a holistic, integrated approach that supports each child’s growth and well-being. Just as importantly, I partner with parents and guardians to expand their toolbox of strategies and help them feel more confident in navigating their child’s emotional needs. My goal is always to create a supportive and empowering environment for children and their families.

• Unless a parent/legal guardian has sole legal/medical custody (our office requires a copy of the custody agreement), both parents/legal guardians must consent to treatment in order for your child to be seen in our clinic. Psychotherapy for children when parents are separated or divorced can present unique circumstances. Psychotherapy is most successful when parents are involved in the therapy process. The best outcomes occur when the provider has a working relationship with both parents built upon collaboration and a desire to promote your child’s best interest. The provider will work with each parent to achieve successful co-parenting, as this is one of the best predictors of children’s adjustment and psychological health when parents are separated or divorced. It is not a provider’s role to provide custody evaluations or opinions about parental fitness. Your provider will discourage the release of your child’s mental health records to your attorneys. Please inform your attorneys not to subpoena your child’s provider or child’s mental health records
• If the client is a no-show or late cancels for two consecutive weeks and/or a total of three appointments in a six month period, unless other arrangements have been made in advance, for legal and ethical reasons, the professional relationship is discontinued.
Please be advised that if an individual fails to schedule or attend any appointments for a period of two consecutive months, their services will be terminated.
